Learning Mentor

Mrs. Teresa Turner

What is a learning mentor?

  •         Someone you can talk to and someone who’ll listen to you.

  •         Someone to help you with any support and guidance that you need.

  •         Someone who can help you reach your full potential by guiding and encouraging you to grow and learn new skills.

  •         Someone who can help you achieve all you can in class and out of it.

  •         Someone who can access help from outside agencies when needed.

  •         Some Learning Mentors can give extra support to your family.

Having a learning mentor is not a punishment or something to be embarrassed about.

We are here to help.

Everyone is different and needs different help and support.

How do I contact a Learning Mentor ?

Easy !

Ask your teacher (or Mr. B.) to arrange a meeting, or

drop a note into the letter box outside the Extended Services Team room on the lower floor, and

Mrs. Turner will come and find you.

How do they do this ?

By identifying barriers to learning and your personal growth

 These could include:

It may be difficult for you to make friends.

You are finding work hard and feel scared to answer questions in class.

You feel like giving up.

You always seem to be in trouble.

Your parents may not understand what happens in school.

The Learning Mentor shares the Extended Services Team office with the Parent Support Adviser,

just off the lower hall in the KS2 building.

Parents can contact the Learning Mentor by -    telephone:  556562     or       email: learningmentor@fordprimaryschool.co.uk
